Il territorio è caratterizzato da condizioni di volo ottimali determinate dall'orografia del territorio che vede l'aria proveniente dalla pianura Padana convogliare sui pendii della Pedemontana.

La zona del Monte Cornizzolo (Brianza) è classica per gare nazionali ed internazionali di deltaplano a cui si affiancano da alcuni anni quelle di Parapendio. Anche in Alto Lario (Montemezzo), in Valsassina e in Val d'Intelvi numerosi sono i posti deve si possono praticare questi sport.
